Dr. Matthew Wilneff is a cataract surgeon and comprehensive ophthalmologist at New York Laser Vision. He provides medical and surgical eye care to patients in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Staten Island. His practice includes cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and the medical management of glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, age-related macular degeneration, dry eye disease, and a wide range of other eye conditions.
Education
Dr. Wilneff earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. He completed his internship at South Brooklyn Health and his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where he served as Chief Resident.
In addition to his clinical and surgical training, Dr. Wilneff has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented research at national ophthalmology meetings. He remains committed to evidence-based medicine and continuing education, incorporating advances in research and technology into the care of his patients.
