Regular eye exams

Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining the health of your eyes by detecting and preventing disease. Some diseases develop slowly, without causing pain or vision loss. Preventative care and early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options. We regularly screen for diseases such as glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, which can develop without any noticeable symptoms.

Tailored Care for All

Patients should see their doctor for a comprehensive eye exam every one to three years, depending on their age, in order to rule our the risk of disease and monitor the overall physical condition of the eyes. Children should have regular tests to ensure the proper development of their vision and prevent any interference with their academic achievements.

Older adults are often at a higher risk for eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts. Even if your eyes are healthy, you should still have a regular eye exam to detect any problems as soon as possible and begin necessary treatment.

Additional Screenings for Preventative Care and Conditions Management

The following are standard exams often included in a regular comprehensive eye exam:

  • Vision Acuity – standard vision check.
  • Refraction – mechanical vision check for accuracy.
  • Intraocular Pressure Check – checking the pressure inside your eye.
  • Dilation – eye drops to widen your pupil.

These exams are subject to change based on the needs and conditions of the patient. Some additional tests may be required for preventative care and management of conditions:

  • Diabetic Eye screenings
  • Macular screenings
  • Glaucoma screenings
  • Cataract evaluations
  • LASIK evaluations
  • Dry eye evaluations

Surgical Procedures

Certain advanced eye conditions may require surgery in order to restore or maintain vision and prevent serious complications. Surgery for cataracts, glaucoma, corneal disease, and other serious conditions are an effective means of correcting these diseases and returning the eyes to a more optimal state of health.

Our doctors perform minimally invasive surgeries to decrease associated trauma and healing downtime. Surgeries are only offered after less invasive treatment such as medications, eye drops, or laser procedures have failed. We also perform laser vision correction procedures to improve vision and eliminate or reduce the dependence on contact lenses and glasses. We also offer non-surgical vision correction options. We offer financing for many surgical and non-surgical procedures.
